These are my 2 favorite .45 caliber cast slugs. The one on the left is a Lyman 325 gr. Gas Check I load in .45 Colt as well as .454 Casull, and the one on the right is Lyman #462560. It's 552 gr. Gas Check I load in both my .45-70 Magnum Research BFR Revolver and Marlin Guide Gun. (Loaded round of .45 ACP for size comparision in the center). It's also a good slug in my .458's and I've even run a few down the bore of my .460 Weatherby. I wish Lyman still cataloged this mold. I was lucky enough to find a 4 cavity mold sitting on the shelf of a local gun shop back in 1975 when I lived in Illinois. Pouring 4 at a crack it doesn't take long to drain a 10 pound pot of alloy! That Lyman boolit casts at 347 gr's with my alloy. I have shot a bunch of 1" groups with it at 75 yd's when sighting it for deer. Out of a Vaquero, none the less! It is DEATH on deer!
