A Dallas radio station's 3:30pm traffic report stated that "there is a major slow down caused by a red-tail hawk having a snack in the right lane of Hwy 183.(a major freeway) Traffic is backed up for more than 1/4 mile." Only in Dallas would motorists stop and watch a hawk have a late lunch on the freeway! :)

I have one in my area that gets a good meal (rabbit) often. It's a big sucker, bout the size of a mail box, and smart enough to hop into the nearest yard when a vehicle goes by.

Thats got to be the ultimate in defiance! The hawk could easily become a hood ornament, but he just stands there in the right lane of the freeway, stares down the oncoming cars, (who are several hundred times his size) and keeps eating! Ya gotta love it.
