One of my favorite firearms is my Marlin .375 Winchester. I have taken many deer over the years with this model and I just paid for my NOE 379 235Gr. RF (RD) mold which should be coming my way very soon now. I got the GC mold and was hoping to get some suggestions on starting loads for use in my firearm.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

The load I have been using is 36.0 grs. of H-322.This was given to me by Ranch Dog himself.I also like H-4895 and RL-7 in these straight cases.I am also in the group buy for this mold.

JT: I have 4895 and RL-7 on hand. Sounds interesting!

I forgot to mention that I am using Starline 38/55 brass.Trimmed to about 2.080" it fits the chamber perfectly and helps get that bullet to engage the rifiling when closing the lever.Iv'e heard these chambers were cut with a 38/55 reamer but have a .376 groove diameter.

Headlead, RL-7 has been my top powder in my 444, I would think it would work very well in the 375

When I receive my NOE mold, I will be load up some boolits and get to the range.

What alloy you all using for this?

37.0 Gr. of RL-7 is all I've ever used in the .375, in both Marlins and a Savage M99. All that was with the Hornady 220-gr. jacketed, and I, too, am awaiting my .375-235 from NOE. Swede says it works great in the Marlin, so I should be able to verify that shortly. The 36 gr. charge mentioned earlier sounds about right for the slightly heavier cast boolit we're discussing...

I currently have a couple of boxes of brass worked up and ready for powder and boolits. I have the old Lyman 375248 cast up from range pick up that tested almost to lino hardness with my Lee hardness tester. I am planning to load 10 each with 2400 and 3031 to see if my Marlin lets me know which one is best to do some load development with. I enjoy the 375Win and am looking forward to finding a Lyman 66LA for it. Current plan calls for it to be with me on opening day of next deer season.

Back in my pre-CB days I launched Hornady's 220 grainer with 38 grs of RL7. Seemed accurate enough in my Big Bore.

Yesterday, I took 2 doe using this bullet/load . First deer didn't go 10 ft. from initial impact to dead. Second larger doe traveled maybe 40 yards before piling up in the leaves. I really am impressed with the performance of the NOE 375_235 GC. I used 36 grains of RE-7 and it did a fantastic job of dropping the animal quickly.

The grandson wants to use my Marlin 375 win. now because of the MOJO he believes it possesses. Maybe next year kiddo, I still have a tag to fill.

Greetings Headlead and Congratulations !
Fresh cooked backstraps !
Those NOE molds are well made. I look forward to getting mine hot. Maybe one day ILLinois will trust us to use some type of center fire rifles. Till then will just keep plugging corn crunchers with the Supermags, 45 Colt or 475 in hand held thunderers or the flinters. I guess I really cannot complain.
