Friday I entered the little shop that I get most of my reloading supplies, expecting to see bare shelves. The only primers they were out of were small rifle (they did have a couple sm. rifle magmums though). They had just recieved a supply of Federal primers and prices were up to $5.00 a hundred. CCI and Remington were still at prices from last summer. They even had both powders that I needed - Benchmark ($27/lb) and Promo ($87/jug).

We aren't seeing shortages, limiting purchases, or gouging; aside from AR-15's.

NAHH it short there too, just the people have raided the gov'ts bunkers in the mountains and resupplied the stores!

I stopped by Green Top (Richmond, VA) on Saturday and there were Large Rifle primers ($3.99 per 100) on the shelf. I expected to see none but the store had limited primer purchases to 500 per person so maybe that accounted for those few thousand still being available. Powder variety/availability was a little better but still not as robust as (used to be) normal. I did pick up a pound of 2400 but they didn't have others that I was looking for.

Almost all the common pistol powders are available here but the common rifle powders are a little tricker to find. primers can be had if you are not particular about brand.

None of the local shops I deal with can even order Promo for me, nor will they order 8 lb kegs.

We still have normal stock of most ammo, 22 and 223 excluded. primers and powder are going as fast as they come in though.

Nothing within 50 miles of me in Western Oregon.
