hey there. just ordered some 200 grain .322 saeco732 for my .32 winchester special from montana bullet works. they arnt gas checked and are air cooled. i did the math for the messurements and it will totally work i just need load data....has anyone done this? what powder do i use? thanks a bunch!

I have not, but did try the big Krag bookit in the WW30CF. Typical slow twist rate of 32SPCL barrels may not yield stable flight with heavy boolits.

hmmm. well im gonna try it anyway. so theres lots of load data for the 30wcf using a 200grain cast boolit can i just use that? everyone kesps telling me i can use any 30-30 load data safely. none of the books or subscriptions i have to websites have any load data for the .32 win spl using a 200 grain cast boolit. thnaks

this is a non gas checked boolit.
i'd look to start at a velocity of about 12-1300 and see what i could get from there.

It'll be a maybe, but can't hurt to try. I just wouldn't load a lot of them beforehand. 32 Win Specials have a 1/16 twist rate. You should be ok using 30-30 data. Because of the slow twist, if it'll work at all, I'd think it would be in the upper end of the velocity range, which equals slower powders. Here's some discussion with the bullet in a 1/16 twist: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?59363-32-40-amp-stabilization-in-a-1-16-twist-26-quot-Marlin Oops, didn't catch on the fact it was plain base.

so how do i go about figuring what powder and how much of it to get in that range? is there some kind of equation?

There isn't an equation per se that will give you exact specifications, but there is a pretty nice predictor called the Powley Calculator that will get you into the ballpark. See:

You still have to use common sense and work loads up, because where there is the potential to cause great harm to yourself and destroy valuable equipment, you can never assume any answer you get is going to be 100% safe. That goes with loads you get anywhere.

or just use a 30-30 load that gives the approximate velocity.
something like 8 grs of red-dot or unique should be a good start.
you can take those up to 10-11 grs.
