Well, went and picked up my lay away today; a 4 gauge flintlock needing a little work;
Here it is next to a .223 Interarms bolt action rifle:

Anyway, saw a S&W model 27-2 in the case priced at only $450.00 and thought, wow! that's a good price.
Asked them to take it out of the case and handled it, action beautiful, some carry(holster) wear, notably on the end of the barrel, nothing serious. Then I thought, "I already have a nice 27-2 in 6 1/2" (this one was 8 3/8") and I probably wouldn't carry this one much because of the long barrel"
Then I thought, "but it has a nice pair of original wooden grips and I need one for my 6 1/2" (it wears a pair of Pachmyers, which was on it when I bought it)

Anyway, while I was pondering and wavering the owner said "Because your are a regular customer, if you want it I will let it go to you for $400.00.

Got out the checkbook and laid it away.

So... here I am again, figuring out how to pay for another laid-away gun.

Oh well, I can always blame it on the sickness.

Just thought I'd share "My name is Vern....and I am a gunaholic"

Vern,
You have taken the first and most important step in recovering. You have admitted that you have a problem and want to do something about it. I would stay out of all gun stores........... After some thought forget it.

Was in my local shop and they have a 357 sp101 for 450. I am trying to keep from going back and buying it tomorrow morning. I still might go do it.

Hello my name is Shane...I have a gunaholic buying problem too. I went to the gunshow today and walked out with this.....Browning 1886, might as well say LNIB.
I have a sickness that my wife understands, doesn't complain about and sometimes ever so often contributes too by showing interest.

Vern, if I had found the flintlock first I could have helped with your problem but there is a slight chance it would have added to mine.

I'm zach and I dont know why I'm here, as i'm an un apologetic and incurable gun nut. If ya'll recover and the buyers remorse makes you sell out let me know (esp on that flintlock, what a beauty!)....

No better caliber than the old .45-70, i think I have six of them (might find more if I went thru the safes).

I was at the LGS today and this guy walked in with a k31 the metal looked decent but the stock was a bit rough , i like a dummy told all about it and what it was worth , i should have offered him a hundred dollars i think he would have taken it

of course i was distracted as i was filling out the paperwork on a 22 at the time
