Guys,

I have 2K CCI Large Pistol Magnum primers. One from when I was still shooting a lot of j-bullets in my 44 mag with 296, and one that I bought by mistake. I want to just use them all up in my plinking loads. I normally shoot 9 grains of Unique with a NOE 200 RF. I won't need to reduce the loads any do I? This is already a fairly mild load. Thanks for your thoughts.

pressure wise you'll be fine.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I guess I'm about to find out what it's gonna do accuracy wise. I haven't used any Magnum primers in the last year since I started casting.

No problem what so ever, it is just they are not needed and accuracy will be better with a regular primer. They are not even best with 296 in the .44.
Go ahead and use them but I wish I had them for my larger calibers.

my 445 really dotes on the fed mag match primer when i go to the top end of the data with a heavy bullet.
but that's 35 grs of powder.

Why not see what loads should have the LPmag primer and use them for that? Unless you are just out of primers, it will not help with your 9 grain load. The load you use is normally very accurate but the mag primer may change that some.
2400 will at times work better with mag primers in the 44 and it will give some very good results. Later David

LP primers can also be used in reduced pressure rifle cast bullet loads.
They’ll seat a little deeper in the pocket as the LP is shorter than a LR.
LP primers are often used when lighting the shotgun powders in rifle cases.
