I hope I'm not being too ignorant here. I think most would agree that first editions of most published matter can become valuable in time. Paper covered books are most fragile, have a short life span and don't usually fall into the collectable catagory.
Did anyone ever see "Modern Gun" magazine. No, you won't find it on the news stand now. It's been gone for quite a while. The Vol 1, issue 1, came out in Oct. "93. I assume it wasn't a monthly as issue#6 is in Aug.'94
The articals are authored by the likes of Sam Fadala, B.R. Hughes. John Kronfeld, Gary Paul Johnston, Col. Chas. Askins and others.
I hesitate, in this, fearful that I'm placing too much importance on these items. Certainly you can't shoot them,(maybe AT them), but they are still a great read, and they are in great condition. There is one more fact that makes these mags particularly unique I guarantee, but I'll not spoil the surprise.
When I see what kind of response I get I'll decide how much time to allow.
As this auction is to benifit the Site, all the site auction rules apply.

I am always up for a good read. I have magazines that go back 20 years. I save them for reference but can never find the info I am looking for when I am looking for it and when I do look for it I find something that interest me more on the second time around...
Anyway, I will cut to the chase. I will start the bidding at $20. Come on Gentlemen, release the hounds!
Robert
Ps. Does the secret have anything to do with a guy who's initial's are LF?

D@$n!!
You are too much! Yes. Is that the reason for the very nice bid?
Pepe Ray
LF has nothing to do with the bid. I like to read and that mag may have articles that will interest me but the MAIN reason is this is a benefit auction for OUR site. I try to help out our site in anyway I can. I really enjoy coming here because I have met some of the best people I know here. Tomorrow I am going to Lake City because one of our new members invited me to his range. Does it get any better than that?

Well the interest was immediate but limited.
Looks like No_1 is gonna have some great reading.
at any rate, the magazines will be going out to someone on Sat. AM's mail.
Thanks, Pepe Ray
I guess nobody sees the beauty in these....

Congrats to Ric and Thanks Again Pepe Ray.
Dang it Ric! I wanted those. Too many beers had me passed out. Can I at least borrow them ;) or maybe when you are done reading them you offer them up to the board for auction again so I get another chance?
Congrates Ric and thank you Pepe Ray for offering this up. Every donation auction no matter how big or small help the board out.
Robert

You don't mind a few pages missing, do you? Ric does his reading in his outdoor water closet which is a mis-nomer because there is no water in it... Sears catalogs are few and far between.

I was kinda thinking they may well be recycled back through here. SO, you will most likely have a crack at reading them yet!
