Went to the range today to do some mining. Man was it cold.....I had a nice 20mph wind blowing straight down the shooting lanes.
In a 30 minute period, my b*lls were so froze, they jingled walking around!
Teach me next time to dress for the conditiions.

But I did have a guy graciously leave his brass laying around for me to pick up. Plus he left the boxes too, as you can see in the pic.
But on a run down, this guy whom i talked to on the 25 yrd lane so I knew it was his, left me:
60 270 cases
100 223 cases
Plus a bunch of 9mm, 40, 380 and a few 45 ACP's

Pic lies, but it's all there what i listed above, just all covered up

Well at least you know where they came from and yes a good pickup for the day.
As to his being flush with cash it seems funny today to just see how many won't bend over and pick up the cases.
I was in my LGS today and they had a can of 5.56 ammo for $1.00 per round there was 840 in the can. that is way to rich for this old man's pocket and so I just laughed at anyone who would pay that much for that can. But be assured there is someone who will spend that kind of money just to have that can and the ammo.

Talk to your local law enforcement. I can get all the 40 S&W, 308 brass I want after their practice/qualifying. They are mostly hunters and do tend to snatch up the 5.56 brass though.

I think two of those pieces of brass you found came off my brass monkey.

It amazes me how many are too lazy to bend over to pick it up. But i don't mind either, more for me! Everything i don't load or trade goes in the scrap bucket to buy more primers. Scrap is just worth too much money these days to toss!

wow, I have not been able to score much brass seems like it getting harder and harder to find at the range. I always check the range before and during hunting season I find a few this last year it was either some got it before me or they are not shooting as much. I saw the price of loaded ammo the other day even .270 and 30.30 are getting up there I am going tommor just because today was a holiday and there seems to be more shooter on holidays so I stay away

Just a few years ago that was nothing. One Sunday I GAVE the Chicago deputy superintendent of detectives 38# of once fired 223s that I had picked up in 30 minutes. It was payback for a favor.

Today the range master even takes the 22lr stuff. probably boosts his paycheck a bunch every week.

He even takes the steel and aluminum and sorts it at home.

Even with a gimpy leg you still made out like a burglar.

I was like the guy stealing the tv set from the house...I was looking this way and that making sure i wasn't seen!
