That's hid pretty good but can you tell me how a brown and white deer can blend into a green timber. I think that they use some kind of magic.

purt near as good a camo as those mossy oak fellers!
honestly can't tell you if it's a.......... or a ..........., but it does have some apparent size. definetly not a barnyard mouser.

I thought I saw a snake in the grass, but the feline chased it away. Probably in a hurry make it to the inauguration.
That was hard to find. It just suddenly appeared as if hidden in plane sight.

Sure is, took me longer with that one.

I thought this one was pretty nice, from our own corner of the planet so to speak. Not as difficult as Ben's but when you see it....Imagine the shot being anothe 50-60 feet back. A wider field of view and I would have missed it I'm pretty sure.

Actually, that has been studied! It's because we "see" the greens, but not so much the gray's and tans, of which vastly outnumber the green tones.

I first saw this thread last evening. I thought I would show my wife today and see if she could pick out the hidden animals. Low and behold when we got home from church a while ago I saw our mouser out back from the bedroom window. The animal in this picture is not as hidden as some of the others but I wanted to share it anyway.59059

Ditto. You don't look for the animal, but for its eyes and nose.

The Urban junkyard kitty took me a WHILE, probably about a minute and I had to get closer to the screen. 20 years of professionally studying all sorts of machinery for broken things is no preparation for that, the brain just isn't programmed for finding critters amidst machinery.

I also immediately found all but the one of the pile of motors. That one defeats the "look for the eyes" method with the stark contrast from one eye to another (not found in nature in most animals). But I did find it in 30 seconds. I stalked cottontails from a very young age and learned to look for their eyes. Even quail are given away by the eyes.

It's pretty easy to see an indoor house cat when she goes outside for a walk, most of the time.

In S. Africa the game guide had the driver stop the vehicle in some brush. My wife looks down at the ground beside the back wheel on my side and there was a leopard eating its kill less than 6 feet from the back wheel. Apparently she heard a crunch and looked that way.
We saw 3 leopards in Timbuvati during that week. Folks are lucky to even see one.

It is not the best feeling in the world to sit on the high back seat of a land rover that has starting issues watching a leopard finish eating a springbok. The guide had the .375 cocked and the safety off. I do not know if was to shoot the leopard if it took a tourist or to put the tourist out of his or her misery.

I found them all relatively quickly, under 10 seconds, except for one. The black/grey and white kitty in the junk pile took me awhile, probably close to a minute to minute and a half. I am sorry but house cats don't belong in junk piles. I was expecting a raccoon, possum, rat, or some other critter that I associate with junk piles.

Best wishes,

Joe

I saw the first one of the big tree, the lion on the ground to the right in the grass. The other one of the woods is supposed to have an animal in it?

Nuts! Just went back to look at both pics, saw the cat on the junk pile within a minute, then the wolf in the other one took about 2 min.

Jonb, I am a sucker for peonies and I focused on those first, 1 second after that and I saw the cat!
Have 4 different peonies and am striving to convert most of my garden to as many varieties of this beautiful flower.
Both my daughters are peony lovers; oldest will have them as table arrangements and on the cake (sugar flowers) for her wedding in May.

Oh, almost forgot, I saw every thing within 5 seconds; looking for cattle in the wilds of southern Mexico and deer in the chaparral of southern California makes you an expert.

To enlarge try holding down the Control (Ctrl) key lower left on my keyboard and at the same time rolling the scroll button on the mouse. One direction gets bigger the other direction gets smaller, just like Alice in Wonderland. Handy for those pictures of girls with guns in The Pit.
