Yup, old news. While I'll admit to really wanting to mount a good Gen III scope and illuminator on my .30-30 a time or two (pig hunting at night), I'm not sure I'd buy one of THOSE just for the purpose.

I wonder, has anyone used the lanyard ring on the Marlin saddle carbine to hook up a single-point harness?
