I have a nice H&R 1871 in 38-55. It has a Bushnell Sportview on it. The gun does not like .375 or .376 cast bulletts. I get intermittent mild keyholing, which makes me think that i need a .377 biullet. Does anyone have a line on a quality supplier of .377 bullets, preferably gass checked??

Its not practical to fire up the pot anymore, but I might if necessary, so a mould recomendation would be welcome also.

Thanks
Dave

Dave, bell the fired case just slightly. Push a boolit it to seating depth. No resistance at all? The size you need would be that which would require some finger pressure to seat. The case on hand should be close to once fired, and not too old. ... felix

Dave, I have a H&R 38-55 target rifle seems most of the H&R stuff run on the large side of the dia. Have you sluged the barrel? mine slugs out at .380 at the moment I'm using a Lee DC 379-250 rf mold and shooting them unsized/ as cast and had pretty good luck with it ... it's a plain base boolit... i know it's not the gas check ur looking for but it may work for you..... or better yet look here (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=15651) at a group buy we got going on that should cast out .381 if every thing go's as planed and we still need a 5 more buyers/molds,,,,[smilie=1:

Mine had terrible accuracy with .377 bullets, so I slugged the barrel and found it was .380. I now use .380 bullets from a LEE 6 cav mould. Now I can hit the 24" circle at 250 yards with iron sights. .377 is too small, especially with harder bullets.
