I'm shooting 27.5 grains of 5744 behind the Lee 500gr RF boolit. Without resizing,
the case, a boolit would go into the case if I pushed hard. Want to do that, but don't want the boolit to slip back further into the case inadvertantly. How much should I reduce that powder amount if I cover the powder with cream of wheat?
Thoughts, please.

None put in your 27.5 GRNs top up roughly where your bullet will seat and set that bullet in give her a slight crimp.
If you have a set of the lee powder measures you can pick one of them till you get one that is close and man you are off to the races. Powder, COW., bullet, crimp and shoot.

Maas, say the Lee 457-500-3R has a base diameter of 460. Size the case to the bullet seating depth at 458. This will give you 0.002 neck tension which the neck tension should be. Then you can seat the bullet with your seating die
