I thought we had an area called our community or something like that. Thought that would be a better place than this for this post but could not find it. If there is a better place for this and you are a mod feel free to move it.

I got this from my local gun club today. Thought I would get the word out.

Ruger is doing this for Free!!! It takes less than 5 minutes to fill out and they send faxes in your name to all your reps & the President & Vice President

Have a great day folks.

I really commend Ruger for doing this. Their political history hasn't been the best and this goes a long way in my book in correcting past errors.

Thanks for the "Heads Up". I was proud to announce that im a responsible gun owner but the government has a way of turning responsible citizens into criminals with ridiculous laws. For the first time in my life, i fear for my safety due to governmental actions.

Thanks for posting this on CastBoolits. I just finished filling it out and sent it. Supporters of the second amendment need to stand up and be heard right now. It's clear the administration's intent is to capitalize on the Newtown tragedy to infringe on our second amendment rights. We need to let our representatives know where we stand. Thanks, again.

I did it too, I got it from Ruger on E mail.
But today I am finding the peoples voice has little meaning even if you bury the WH in mail. They don't care because our votes don't count as much as those on the gov't dole.
A long time ago I sent a letter to Byrd in WV when he was alive. It was a spoof and I explained as much. I said I would go into a life of crime if all guns were taken from law abiding citizens, too hard to work for a living.
I got a form letter thanking me for my opinion. They don't read anything, they have a staff to respond and they throw stuff out without reading and your words are not transmitted to the important people. They have no time for us. They take your address and send a standard form letter. I get tons of form letters.
If anyone thinks your representatives will read the millions of faxes, E mails or letters, I have sad news. Threaten to vote them out and they just grin, they buy votes with taxpayer and union money. Voter fraud works just fine too.
Test the water once and you will see how unimportant we really are.

I did this and sent it to all my email friends. If we don't stand up now it will be too late later. GGG

It is good that we do this, but it is even better if we have our spouses, and kids, and neighboors, and relatives etc. all do it as well. I timed myself. Took about a min and a half. Time very well spent!

I did one as well. My wife also filled out the info and sent it along. No one will probably read it, but at least we are being active and doing something.

Done deal. Probably a waste, but at least the sumbeeches might get the picture. I do know that at least on the local level, such things as abstaining from voting for an individual on the ballot is noted, i.e. unopposed candidates will research before re-election how many people cast a ballot but abstained from checking the only box in the seat last time and get an idea of how hard they must campaign to win re-election if they happen to have an opponent next time. I can't help but be convinced that career politicians at least tally letters by bean count to get a feel for the feelings of those they represent. Not that most of them really care, except to get an idea of which direction to blow their rhetoric next election, and what tone that blabbing must be to win.

Though I went through the process, 44man hit the bullseye.

I've written numerous letters to both of my senators and my represtentative, and rarely have they had the courtesy to send a reply, let alone a fill-in-the-name form letter. To make matters worse, for this staunch conservative, my ultra-liberal senators are Diane Feinstein (of CCW licensee fame) and Barbara Boxer, and my representative is a registered member of the Socialist Party of America and admirer of Fidel Castro. I'm sure their staffers read my letters' opening paragraph then ran them through the shredder.

I hope some of the congresscritters remember what happened after the last time they voted for stupid gun legislation.

The one thing of this that might possibly not be wasted is when Ruger has the data to be able to say "(Some number of) million law abiding, responsible gun owners responded in less than a week, to an unadvertised word of mouth campaign stating that we already have enough (if not too many) gun laws."

I received in the mail several responses from my "representatives". All but one of them were extremely vague and stated how much my interests are being looked after by me "representative". It is blatantly obvious that they did not even make an effort to make the form letter even reference my issue. On a positive note, one representative had a letter actually addressing the issue of guns. Am I surprised? No,but disappointing none the less. Makes me feel more than ever like we need to clean house, even our own.
