Plan to shoot patched bullets with stevens 325. Sized 160gr. .309" down to .303. Paper patched to .312" (don't have access to onionskin paper out here). Tried to re-size lubed (50%bees wax, 50%vaseline) bullet back down to 309" with Lee type sizing die but paper stripped from bullet completely. What am I doing wrong. Any trick appreciated.

You have to use wax on the paper prior to sizeing.
I cast to .308 with sizeing, then wrap twice with lined notebook paper. Once dry, I lube with Turtle was, then size to .309. The sizeing makes the paper shiney and the extra gets wiped off. The tail compresses to the base of the casting.
On the stripping, I wrap soaking wet. The patch squeegees off the water and the patch gets damp to dry. Once dry, it shrinks completely. I can see the lube lands. This I size to .309. In time, it grows to .310

Patched bullet was lined with homemade 45% beeswax and 55% Vaseline and re-sizing was done with lee type push through die. I'll try Turtle wax. Thanks.

ive been resizeing wrapped .505 down to .498 where the bullet is 20 to 1 lead useing corbin swageing lube. i use a lee die also. its really slippery under pressure.the bullets were so tight in a reg loading press i couldnt get them through it. i have a corbin swageing press and they went through smoothly on it, also it is the best paper patch lube ive used yet.

I have read of others who size after patching, but I have never been able to make it work. I size before patching and give the patch a light smear of Crisco then seat into the case.

Try polishing the inside of the Lee die. All the Lee push through dies I have got have been kind of rough.

The lube has to be dry. If the patch is still damp from the lube it will cumple. I've played with using liquid Alox and had the same thing happen if I didn't let them dry overnight. Using your Crisco blend I don't know how long it will take for them to dry.

I use a LEE die to bring the boolit down to where I want it,wrap and let dry load then fire.
I size only the bare boolit once.

I just wrap a sized boolit with dry paper, do the Crisco thing, and seat the boolit. I don't run that thru the sizer. I'm one of "them" who dry wrap.

Try Johnson's Paste Wax for a paper lube. Plus one on polishing die.
