Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook: 9mm Luger
"Pistol barrels with rifling that feature rounded edges rather tthan traditional square cut grooves may give poor results with cast bullets. Glock is the most commonly encountered pistol with this style of rifling."

As one with a new lee 124 grain LRN mold, a glock, some HP38, and a desire to reload 9mm, does anyone know if there is any truth to this statement, or have any experiance with it. Hopefully shooting at 25 yards with these bullets wont give me any problems accuracy wise. However, if it does, will possibly a harder alloy or a size up work. Any help will be appreciated.

Here's a good read for you.

My best advice is to just go ahead and try with what you have. If you encounter problems, work through them and ask questions. First you must experiment.

I used to shoot cast out of an H&K USP with no problems (polygonal barrel)
the consensus in a nutshell seems to be that it's OK, just pay attention to any leading that's building up.
any barrel thats full of lead is dangerous, pressure-wise. Don't take my word for it, though, read up on Glocks and cast–there's
a lot here at the forum on the subject.

that H&K was a tackdriver with a 200 grain SWC, and no leading.

I've had many problems with the ''9''.Even started to hate the thing!Tried it with Unique,Bullseye and a few others I forgot.Bullets were the Lee 124RN ,Lyman 125RN and Saeco 125 TC(all conventionnal lubed).Shot them in a Sig P226,Sig P220,Ruger 85 and Blackhawk convertible(357/9mm)and S&W 569.Pattern instead of groups+keyholing.

I tried HP38(4gr under SaecoTC and Lee 125RN)and the keyholing stopped.Groups, while not spectacular, shrinked to an acceptable 3'' at 20yds.I found out that my HP38 load generated more velocity than all the loads I was using with all other powders.I am going from there increasing my loads by 1th of a grain feeling that I'm on the right track.Simply put I guess, not enough pressure/velocity.No leading with straight WW.Just a treck that might be worth exploring here!

In my experience, light loads in the 9mm in my guns are not accurate. When I run them toward the upper limit, groups are much better, and still no leading.

Slower powders like AA#7 work for me, 7 gr with a 125 gr boolit.

Same here. Accurate #7 (7.5 grains), Lee 125RN and 45/45/10 lube.

I use the Lee 124 RN, 45/45/10 lube and 4.0-4.2 gr. W231 for my 9mm's
