I want to load subsonic loads for my No4 mk1 using a 230 gr cast boolits the mold is a Lee .300 AAC BLACKOUT tumble lube .308 dia unsized measures .311 with a mic. I would like to use Universal Clays or herco any ideas/takers?

Subsonic loads to be accurate with a long boolit require a fast twist - what twist rate is your barrel? I'm looking at mine and it appears to be 1:10 so 180-200 grain would do well depending upon length - look at stability links

As far as I can make out a 1-in-10 twist will stabilize a 260gr boolit. In fact, it might even stabilize a 300gr boolit. That's assuming a 300gr boolit is 1.6 inches long.

Yes it's a 1 in 10 twist. the rifle is a 1945 lee enfield no4 mk1 "T"

In addition I am hoping this would make a good combo to load subsonic. The Boolit is a boat tail sp

The JBM calculator gives it a Stability factor of 2.015

i would think that u be able to use the unique data with universal clays being there about the same burn rate

What are your rifles bore and groove diameter, the boolit in question could be undersized, check first.
