All of you with problems casting. All that provided tips on making the troublesome cheap Lee products work right. And especially all of you who said it was easy.Seriously...thankyou all...for the voluminous information here.I spent many months gathering info and deciding how to proceed.Cast my first boolits this morning and other than a few tries to get the feel of it was casting nice boolits right away.It was too easy.Thank you all once again.http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee404/chutesnreloads/coolstuff004_zps7b925884.jpgThey pile up fast.http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee404/chutesnreloads/coolstuff003_zpsb60cd778.jpg

yeah that'll do it.
wait till you try to size those.
that bright and shiney is how the wifes castings look.
i'm gonna have to go look at my lino supply now.

OK you guys using lino, I've got three long triangular pigs of the stuff. How do you break it down into a size to fit a 20lb pot?

Good GRIEF! Straight lino??? Entirely unnecessary and not much different than using gold [well, slight
exaggeration there ;-) ] Pretty boolits, but an amazing choice of alloy.

Cut that lino with pure lead at least 50%.

As to cutting the bars, I drive an axe 1/4 way thru with a hammer and then put the "score" on a 2x4 and smack
the overhanging end with a big hammer. Lino is brittle as heck and it just snaps. This is
another good reason not to use straight lino - will SHATTER if it hits a bone.

Take a nice straight lino boolit, put on an anvil or vise and smack with big hammer, hard. It will
shatter.

i whack them on the edge of the steps.
if thi fails i hit them with the 12 lb sledge hammer i make three pieces from them.
then throw them in the cast iron ladled ingot maker with some little numbered and lettered pieces and strips/straps.

Don't blame me for making you cast such pretty shiny boolits.

In the spirit of helping a fellow caster, I'm volunteering to take that first batch for you, load them and test them.

Better than store bought. That's why we cast.

I cut my larger lead pieces down with a smoke wrench. Some of the lead I find is a foot long and 6x6. Supper heavy lol
