This maybe all new to you. Typically how the group buy's work is like this.
A member gets a wild idea for a projectile that does not exist in the Lee standard inventory. That person posts explaining why he thinks the world would be better with this mold in it.
Other members jump on the bandwagon and suggest small changes that make the design better or useable for more tasks.
When 25 or more people all agree they want one somebody offers to "Honcho" the deal, That person sets the ground rules of when, where, and how you send your $$. The Honcho sends the order to Lee, and when he gets the molds, sends you yours.
Group buys can take place with less than 25 takers, however in that case there is a $100.00 setup fee that the group would split.

............I could be a sticky, no problem. However, it's not JUST the 6 cavity blocks that are available for custom moulds.

I think something important to say is for only the Honcho to call Lee asking for updates. If Lee keeps getting calls about molds from gobs of people who didn't place the order, then may decide they don't want all the hassle and restrict the ordering process or something?
Lee always says that it will take a huge amount of time to get it done, but they always seem to come in in a couple of months.
The cutom molds are not an absolute process. We can try our best to have them come out the right size and weight, but it sometimes doesn't work as planned.
We pay our money, We take our chances, we usually have fun in the process.
I think that 99% of all here understand that, but it seems that sometimes someone comes along that doesn't realize that it's just us regular guys behind the stick.
What I have done for keeping track of orders for molds is this:
I put all the order info in an excell spread sheet.
I sort by zipcode and use that info to copy and paste in updates here.
I keep quantity ordered, paid and shipped in seperate columns. and just put a 1,2 ... into the columns, then I have a record of what's come in and what's gone out.
Excell can tally up the molds and money. It's pretty handy.
For shipping purposes, I copy and past the address into a word doc. Then I can copy and paste that into a generic doc set up for printing labels. It cuts down on the writers cramp! You can just print on plain paper, cut out and tape onto the package.
You can put a 1,2... for the amount of molds ordered a couple of lines under the address, then you have a quick reference as to how many molds to attach to this particular address.
Things can get kind of busy sending out 60+ molds.
Everything that I've been sending priority mail, I just use the post office's free shipping labels and print them at home. Quick and easy.
For the 6 cavity molds, I just tape the box closed, put a label on and stuff back into the big box to take to the post office. The smaller molds don't come in sturdy enough boxes to be shipped. I think someone said we could ask Doug to send mailer boxes with them???
Bill:
I am VERY new to casting and have a question.
If 25 or more 6-cavity moulds are ordered is it possible to get a single cavity of the same designed ordered at the same time?
I sure wish I had known about group buys when you guys ordered the 452423 clone !
Thanks,
Jerry

From what I have heard is Lee will not do that, they will not even cut some of the molds in the (25) without gascheck shanks for instance. I Keep coming back to the fact that we are lucky they even talk to us at all on these orders.
I'm not sure why you want a single cavity, but if it is for improved consistancy you could lightly engrave one cavity in some area so you could sort those ones out later as "match" bullets.

Bill:
Thank you. I figured that was probably the case.
I was interested that some designs might be conducive to being hollow-pointed and money could be saved if they would make a single-cavity along with the large batch of 6-cavity moulds.
