I lost the pivot screw out of the loading rod on a Pietta clone of a Colt 1851 Navy. Does anyone know what thread that thing might be?

Thanks,
Jim

Can somebody check the screw on their gun with a pitch gauge please?

Thanks,
Jim

Jim.
Since there has been no other response to your query, I may offer a little help.
I had reason to measure the screws in a Pietta 1858 Remington recently.
The hammer is 5mm dia .80 pitch
Trigger and hand are 3.5 x .60
The rest are 4 x .70
If you have a rem around, you could use a screw from it to check the pitch in your colt.

The easiest way may be to take it to a hardware store that carries a good selection of metric screws and see what fits.

M4 x 0.7 is what it turned out to be. Thanks for posting that.

I had no idea it was going to be a plane-Jane standard thread like that. The last thread I messed with on this thing was an M6 x 0.75 which is a special. That was for the nipples.

I grabbed a pan head screw from Home Depot tonight & turned the head down to the appropriate diameter. All seems well.

Thanks again,
Jim
