This post probably seems like I'm just full of myself, but I'm proud of the results after applying all of the knowledge I've learned from all of you. I've handloaded for rifle with commercial components for awhile with decent success, but this really makes me feel a little bit more independent. My first cast boolits from scrapyard lead and home brewed lube (runfiverun's simple lube). 40 rnds and no leading. This .45 really started to bark and I couldn't be happier. Got some more refinements to do, but it's all coming together. I love them big ol' holes.

Good going
When you said first cycle my first thought was you were doing what many of us here do. Cycle them into a boolit trap, sand bucket, etc. get em out and cycle them back into the trap again. Most of the boolits I shoot are very experienced.

The boolit trap is in the works. I have a 40" piece of 10" Schedule 40 pipe. Gonna have to buy a full sheet of 3/8 plate to finish it. It seems like we have to spend a lot in order to not spend any more and be outside more stupid regulations. That is the reality I'm aiming for, as well as most of us I'd guess.

looks like the 14.5-15.0 area things started coming together quite well.
a click or two to the right on the rear sight and that will center things up.
at 50' that's looking good though.

makes me feel good too that you are having success with the lube.

Good work.

You seem to have a very good grasp of "how-to".
