Hi All,
I picked up a 100 pack of these hard cast boolits made by PRECISION CAST BULLETS, Springport, Michigan.
They are 375 grainers........uniformly sized right at .475 with a plain base which has a slightly tapered edge. Unfortunately they did not come with load data from the bullet maker and I am having trouble finding load data for 375grain cast bullets.

Have any of you used these bullets?
Any suggestions on safe starting loads for them would be much appreciated.
I have w-296 powder on hand and Win-LP primers.

Here are pics of the 375grain PRECISION bullet.
(Placed next to an un-lubed 400grain Lee bullet for comparison)

Charlie; I checked the Hogdon reloading data web site and they had a load using W-296 powder for a cast lead 370 gr. boolit, none for a 375 gr. for the 480 Ruger.
Starting load was 24 gr. of W-296 for 1348 FPS.
Max load was 26 gr. of W-296 for 1454 FPS.
Hope that is some help for you. As there is only 5gr. difference in boolit weight, you should be able to start at the 24 gr. load and work up looking for pressure signs.

I had some loads for the .480 brass in my .475.
I used a 392 gr LBT WFN with 22 gr of 296, Fed 155 primer. The Lee 400 gr shot well with 23 gr.
You should be fine with the loads given to you and you can ignore the 5 gr difference by just dropping the max load a gr. The gun will shoot better just below max anyway.
I bet 24 gr will do all you want. Great gun, good to T Rex!

Thanks Guys,

Knifemaker - I had also found the Hodgdon data.....it was the closest thing I could find to what I'm looking for. Like you say that little 5grain difference should be negligible. I just wanted to ask for help from experienced folk before I start messing around with modifying loads. Some might call me timid, but I am pretty new to reloading and am nervous about deviation from published load data.....even in loads that look very similar.

44man - did your load for the Lee 400 grainer use the first (deep) crimp groove or were you using the 2nd groove to keep case volume higher? I ask this because the cylinder of my SRH is long enough to go either way.

I have only tried one load for mine after it was recommended by a fellow site member. Lee 400 gr. with 21 gr. H110. It shoots so well I haven't dared try anything else. I shoot this in a Tarus Raging Bull.

I seated long because my cylinder is long.
