Hello

Im new to reloading but have cast bullets for a muzzleloader for a while. Anyway I bought the lee 358-105-swc mold for my Taurus TCP. i havent recieved the mold yet but had a few questions.

First does this bullet work in this gun? I read alot on this forum and it looks like it is a good boolit for the .380 but not for the TCP?

Also does anyone have any experiance with deep seating this bullet? i would be loading it with a plinking load so im thinking this would free up some room.

Thanks for all your help.

James

Hi and welcome.

There is another thread on the same topic at http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?176456-Specific-load-question-380-ACP-Taurus-TCP-and-Lee-358-105-SWC-boolit

Apparently some guys use the 105 in their 380's and have good results. I didn't have success with it in my 380's and don't use it. It has too little nose and too much base in the case for my guns. The Lee 100 RN is an excellent shooter, it's just a two cavity and slow to cast a pile of them.

I use the 105 Lee SWC in my 380 with great success.

If it'll chamber, it'll work. Have had a few chambering issues with that boolit in 9mm. Still working at it.

I loaded some for my kel tech 380. I had to seat so deep that on some cases the case would wrinkle a little. It doesnt do it with all cases, just certin headstamp. I read somewhere that some 380 brass has a taper on the inside to keep bullets from setting back.
