Hi all,

I recently purchased ideal mold #357466 a 162 grain SWC by Keith Thompson? I found loads listed for it in the lyman manual but only in the 38 special, not the 357 mag. I wanted to use this mold for my Ruger GP-100 and my marlin 1894C levergun can anyone give me a load with 2400, H110, BlueDot, Red Dot?

I found a article written by Skeeter Skelton about he 357 mag and he has the lyman #357466 as a 158 grain not the 162 I have? Is this the same mold?

Thanks
Bill

Yes, that's the same mould. Your alloy just has a slightly different density than what he used. 14.0 grains of 2400 is my favorite .357 Mag load for bulltes in this weight range.

7.62 what diameter does your mold throw?

I have a twin cav in this design and it seems it was destined to fit the 9mm's more than the 357's. It sits in my mold box unused basically. I admit to not having alot of hope in working with it, and I have other more suitable sized molds so I just kind of abandoned it when I saw the diameters she throws. If memory serves it throws a boolit of .356 or so. If yours is similar you may have to kick it in the **** pretty hard to get it to work without having issues, depending on the dimensions of your intended irons of course.
