Hey everyone new here, been lurking for a bit and decided to join. Name is Brian I am from the Mooresville NC area, just got into reloading and man it is great.

But anyways on to my question. I have a lee 356-120tc 6 mold. The projectiles are coming out right at 356, I tried to reload a few and they are not wanting to fit into my barrel(shown in pics). So I measured a few hollow points I had purchased and they read 354 and they fire great out of my xd9 and kel tec pf9. My question is the smallest re sizer I can find online is a 356. So if this is the case what am I suppose to do? Thanks foir any help guys

And no I have not gotten around to sizing my barrel. I need to but this test right here shows me a problem. My friend also had a problem with one in his glock he had to bump the slide all the way closed.

Do you possibly have a problem with your OAL being too long for your chamber? For bullets I use a micrometer rather than calipers.

Well I tried adjusting the length. Either way still have the problem. I made the crimp tighter and it shaved the boolit down. Helped it fit but not perfect. Seemed to possibly lead the die.

You could blacken the case/boolit with a sharpie marker, reinsert it into the barrel ..you will see where the interference is by the removal of the black marker..just a thought

I find it hard to believe the smallest 9mm sizer is .356 but I don't shoot that beast so I can't really say. What are you using to size your boolits? If it is an H&I or Lee Buckshot can make you one to your dimensions for a very reasonable price.

Take it one step at a time. Make sure the case length is in the ballpark and test it in the chamber. Next seat the bullet to the proper OAL. Question: are you flaring the case mouth, seating the bullet and then taper crimping to take the flare out. Measure the outside diameter of the case at the bullets base and at the mouth, if crimped correctly they should be close to the same. Silverboolit has a good idea, color the case mouth and bullet with a sharpie, insert in chamber. Put your thumb against the back of the case and turn it while applying a little pressure. You will be able to see where it is making contact.

Let us know what you find.

Have you measured the diameter of the case mouth right where the bullet enters with both the jacketed bullet and the cast boolit seated and crimped?

Ok guys I went out and tinkered with the dies(lee pro 1k yea yea cheap I know but affordable). I got every thing going 100% now. I'm guessing maybe I had the crimp or something way out of wack. But they al;l fit great into the barrel and seem to have no issues. I'm sorry I wasted your time guys, but just wasn't sure. I plan on test firing 10 I made and seeing how they do, OAL is right at 1.08 with the lube ring just under the top of the brass. I will say after I have used my pan lubed ones(just a few hundred) I am going to tumble lube as man dealing with the sucks. I have around 1600 projectiles made up with more lead waiting to me smelted down. Again sorry and thanks for all the quick help. I look forward to being on the forum.

No problem thats why we are here, for each other.

You say your new to reloading.

If I were you I would put out a shout to all the guys on the forum who live near you and have experience. I bet they would be more than happy to spend a few hours with you and move you through the basics. It would be time well spent.

Just watch for lube change to possibly upset the load and cause a need for more development.
