What I would like to know is has there been a change to a larger meplate diameter from the original Ideal design of the 454190?
What I am seeing in catalog advertising from old to current is that the meplate looks larger in the newer advertising.
Does anyone know for sure?
I would like a 4 cavity in the original design with small meplate so if it has changed I dont want to order a new mold.
Anyone have an old one they want to deal on?

Maybe if a few folks that have a 454190 would measure the meplate and report in we could figure this out.

I have an Ideal two banger 454190, it looks to be to be around 0.185 inch or a dab bigger.
Mines not for sell.

Both of my 454190 moulds are pretty old--I don't think my measurements would help you much. FWIW, both have a small meplat, ~.150" or so. Given current thinking on nose form and counter-critter/counter-hairball engagements, the wider meplat might be more efficient, though lacking in original form and profile.

I think Johnboy or maybe Jack Christian have discussed this in the foggy past. My Lyman mould for that boolit is about 11 years old and seems smaller than the current pics. I may measure it for you when I get home.
