Here's a bamboo horn I recently made from some local bamboo (two species) and wire and scraps I found lying around. Except for the tacks it was all built from scratch. Holds about 1/4 lb or a bit more. Since the pic was taken a strap was made and installed and the horn cleaned up a little.

Short starter with a vent pick (red ball) included.

Most excellent...I like it alot. Too bad that bamboo stuff don't grow here, the stuff has about a zillion uses....you found one more use that I had not thought of.

You might be able to grow it. I'm not far south of the Canadian border, and it grows here. Matter of fact, once it gets started, it is very hard to get rid of!

There are some three or more species growing in the South and I used two of them making this horn. I've also made powder measures form the smaller species.

Found a large diameter bamboo tikki torch....gonna try one of these for myself......THANK YOU

Bamboo will grow here, but my small diameter japanese bamboo I started for arrow shafts has not impressed me much....maybe when the roots get more time to do their thing. I am not sure how the bigger timber boos would grow and I am a bit worried about them going feral as they are the rhizome type....my arrow shaft bamboo is the clumping type.
