That is my old girl Casey. She is a pure bread boxer and has been my constant companion since 2006. She likes to roam around the mountains with me, but is slowing down as she gets older. She has to be the most worthless hunting dog in the world, is afraid of things like chairs, but goes all out when a lawn mower is in use.

She does like her raw hide chews though. She is a gentle giant with my daughter, and very protective of the family.

When she wants to play you really have no choice with 75 lbs of blockhead barreling at you. She is laying at my feet while I type this hoping she gets a piece of my ham sandwich. To me a dog is one of the family and gets treated as such. Plus who else is going to wrestle on the couch with me? Mrs. Love Life does not always approve of out shenanigans, but she tolerates us!

I think my next dog will be a Rottweiler.

GIGI...a bitter old woman who used to be in charge
Sadie.. A kid on speed

I think my next dog will be a Rottweiler.

English or German? - at one point I had a pair - loved them mucho - very smart dogs
56754
Bouncer - English - 125 lbs of Love and Loyalty
- slept in bathroom in summer - coolest place in the house

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/rowdyfisk/dog%20gone%20cute/rowdy-1.jpg
Rowdy - German "bear head" - 140 lbs of muscle and belly
26 inch neck - Vet's office put a muzzle on him one time and he just took a paw and removed it.
I just held his head in my hands when they put in the temp probe and gave him shots.

- we rescued them from a home of multiple dogs - they had a new born baby and had to get rid of all the big dogs.
I took the Rotten's - had them brought over to the house to interview us and the wife the dogs.
Rowdy opened up the pool gate himself and went for a brisk sit - said we'd do.
Bouncer turned out to have dental problems - once we remove a couple of teeth he was much happier.
Bouncer was 11 when he passed and Rowdy was 13 years old - problem with larger dogs is they generally don't live as long.

If you don't get one from a rescue, make sure you find a good breeder - the pure breeds seem to have more issue than mixes or mutts as we used to call them.

Wow Artful. Those Rottweilers are beautiful. I hear you on the big dogs. My parents raised boxers for a while and the father was an old world. He weighed 120 lbs all muscle and block. Unfortunately boxers end up with tumors and cataracts along with the hip problems of large dogs. I reckon Casey will need a new space age hip in a year or two.

Wifes trimming their bangs then giving them a bath right now...they are a pair of Ocherese. Mother and daughter. Long hair and no shedding, but we keep it trimmed. I just call them mutts, dirty dogs, ole stink bags, butt lickers the whole nine yards. But i got a pic, I'm waiting for it to come thru my email right now.

Ok finally got my email to come thru for a pic......
the on on the left is Sophie the mother, and the right one is Mandy Lou

Thunder, the 17 year old gets aspirin and glucosamine chondroitin daily to keep him comfortable.

Nice, that's one reason I have not gotten any more Rottie's, they can never replace the one you lose, but they always give their whole heart to you.
A Dog is the only unconditional love that money can buy. They do the happy dance just cause you get out of the bed in the morning, when you come home from a bad day they only want to make you feel better, and if you get sick they want to stay with you and make you feel better.
