I got my TIP, I'm riding my friends bike until I get me own. I'm lookingfor a sports bike in the 250-600cc class. Preferably something not too new, that way I don't cry too much when I lay it on its side (preferably that happens while not in forward motion[smilie=1: ). If you have some thing or know of something some where please PM me.

I have a Honda VF700 Sabre in my garage that I'd be willing to part with fairly cheap.

This was my only vehicle back when I was single and lived in the High Desert of Southern California. Has seen only intermittent use since moving back to MI and almost none at all since getting married/having kids.

I was thinking about trading it off to an acquaintance for a 3 Screw Super Blackhawk that he doesn't have much use for. Can you make me a better offer than that? ;-)

Gotta give a big thanks to KTW on this one. He handed me the keys today to a extremely well kept '85 sabre. got it home and with the usual stuff like cleaning out the tank and anew battery it fired right up.

That bike has history.

I bought it in Concord California, a suburb of San Francisco, in 1985.

I got a speeding ticket on it once in San Luis Obispo county. The officer caught up to us near a cafe where we sat down and had a cup of coffee while he wrote out the ticket. On my way back out to the bike I noticed a marker outside the cafe that said something to the effect that 'James Dean died near this spot in 1955'. still got that ticket stashed away somewhere.

Rode the Pacific Coast Highway on it once and up and down 395 whenever we got a 3 day weekend. Been to Mexico on it several times. Road cross country on it (29 Palms CA to Jacksonville NC to Binghamton NY to Grand Rapids MI) when I finished my tour of duty in the Marine Corp.

It has been to Sudbury Ontario, Death Valley, Washington DC, Medford Oregon, Las Vegas NV; Glacier National Park; Los Angeles, Missoula MT and Copper Harbor, MI.

It was just plain sad to see it languish away in the garage the last 6 or 8 years. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I did.

Went for a little brap yesterday. Actually caught up with Todd at the taco bell. Bike ran great, need to tweak the fron brakes a bit, they're draggin just a hair, if I grab a hand ful of brake to slow down before going into a turn I get a little shimmy in the handle bars for a bit that goes away. Probably just the calipers need to get loosened up. Other than that she's great...oh ya....she is wicked fast.
