hello;

have the tl356-124-2r mold but not getting the accuracy i hoped for. anyone use the lee tl356-124-tc or the
lee tl356-120-tc mold? speed is not important to me but accuracy is.

no problem with tumble lubing if i keep the speeds below
925fps.

either bullet for 38spl???

have used the lee 358-125rf, sized to .357 and able to get reasonable accuracy but with four 9mm pistols keeping track of four different o.a.l. has become a pain.

thanks for any input.

I have good luck with the conventional 120 TC.

I like the Lee,358- 105 gr.swc, sized at .357 or .358, Makes a nice clean hole and with Bullseye very accuate. Used in a custom 1911 and Kimber Match.

I used the 124g TC for years. I have since found I have better luck from the 125RNTL.

My son and I have shot many thousands of these through 8 or 10 different 9 mm's with great success.

Lee 120 TC (lube groove version). Mild to wild in the 9MM with excellent accuracy and is extremely accurate in all my .38/.357 rifles and pistols!

I second that. This is a great little boolit that I also cast for 38 Special. Cheap to shoot with minimal recoil and darn good results at the target.

I use the Lee 356-120-TC in 4 different 9MM but have not got it to shoot as well as Lee 356-125-2R in any of them. A work in progress.

For accuracy, tailor the ammo for each individual gun and get rid of the TL molds. My experience is the best accuracy happens with a rn in the 9 though a tc can come close.

The TL356-124TC is capable of great accuracy, but it must be loaded right or you will get nothing but keyholes and leading.
I believe TL molds have a bad rap in part due to our thinking that we can stuff them into a 9 case like they were a fmj. I'm happy to share my solution for this profile if you're interested. I believe the standard lube groove molds are more forgiving.

I have the .356-120 TC in standard loob gruv design. It shoots very well in my 1911. One thing though - I hope yours is a little bigger than mine. I can't get mine to cast over .357. Not big enough, so I put plain base gas checks on em and life is good. Actually, I mostly shoot the MP .358-125 HP. Now, there's a good boolit. enjoy Mike

Boolseye, I'm interested. Please share your solution as i'm getting a bit frustrated with my xdm 9mms leading.

I use the Lee 356-125-2R ( 125 gr round nose) in two different 9's with good accuracy and no leading. I'm sizing .0010 to .0015 over bore diameter.

Great results with 356-120 TC in many 9mms. Ditch the TL stuff. For similar cost, pan
lube with NRA 50-50 lube and use Lee push through sizer at .357 or 8

This may help;

Aw, c'mon mtgun!! They're not that bad! ;-)

Sparky, I sent you a PM with my solution. I recently shared it on a new thread as well.

Certainly some have succeeded with TL and mule snot. MANY have brought
their tales of woe and failure here, especially with the 9mm. In a substantial
number of cases they only solved the problem by switching to conventional
lube designs. It appears that the TL designs have very small margins and if
everything is just right, they work. If some part of the story is not exactly
correct, they fail.

I understand the low entry cost level, but you also want results.

I have used the tl356-124-tc on top of some accurate #2 with very good results.
