Fleabay came through- 5 lb spool of 50/50 solder for $18 delivered. Pure stuff, no flux in it, etc. Now I can make some number 2 alloy and get away from the pure ww's for awhile- I find #2 fills out better anyhow.

Still it will go fast; where do you get your 50/50 solder?

Really? I looked online at a plumbing supply house, they wanted 93 dollars for a 5 pound roll, ergo I thought I was getting a deal!

18 isn't too bad for delivered, hell it prolly cost 8 to ship.

I'm a plumber/HVAC guy so they all know me around here and I just ask for it.

You could try dressin like a plumber and walking in to some of the supply houses in your area. If they try to tell you it can't be used any more, tell em its for a closed system boiler.
