View Full Version : Just food for thought about an "armed America"

I just received this...real food for thought:

Interesting slant on things

AMERICA'S HUNTERS --- Pretty Amazing!
The world's largest army... America 's hunters!
I had never thought about this...

A blogger added up the deer license sales
in just a handful of states and

arrived at a striking conclusion:

There were over 600,000 hunters
this season in the state of Wisconsin .
Allow me to restate that number:

Over the last several months,
Wisconsin's hunters became the eighth
largest army in the world.

More people under arms than in Iran .

More than France and Germanycombined.

These people deployed to the woods of a
single American state, Wisconsin, to hunt
with firearms, and no one was killed.

That number pales in comparison to the
750,000 who hunted the woods ofPennsylvania
and Michigan's 700,000 hunters, all of whom

have now returned home safely. Toss in a
quarter million hunters in West Virginia
and it literally establishes the fact that the

hunters of those four states alone would

comprise the largest army in the world.
And then add in the total number of hunters
in the other 46 states. It's millions more.

The point?

America will forever be safe from foreign

invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting.... it's not just a way to fill the freezer...
It's a matter of national security.

***************************************
That's why all enemies, foreign and

domestic, want to see us disarmed.

Food for thought, when next we consider gun control.
Have A Great Day!
-------------------------------------
Overall it's true, so if we

disregard some assumptions that hunters

don't possess the same skills as soldiers,
the question would still remain...
what army of 2 million would want

to face 30, 40, 50 million armed citizens.

While I don't fear a foreign enemy taking our guns, I do fear the domestic and U. N. anti-gunners who want to disarm us via laws and regulations.

The second amendment was never about hunting or foreign governments it was about our government.

I think I have read that only 3% fought in the revolutionary war, but even if 3% takes up arms, it would be a sizable militia.

Unfortunately about half of our citizens are asleep at the wheel. I say this from the pretty much 50/50 split of our election results. I don't think people get it. I see what is happening in Syria and Egypt and in that part of the world and I believe people should realize that our elected officials are all the time giving themselves more power over the populace. Very scary. I see the rioting in their streets and think it could happen here. God help us to wake up.

The "frog in WARMING water" comparison is probably the most likely scenario. I experienced it before the estranged SWMBO hit me with divorce papers this summer. I got help and moral suport from various places and she is getting "reality checks" because she is clue-less about assets and debts. Suddenly, it was just a ploy to wake me up and re-vitalize the relationship. Me, I'll cut my losses and start over.

Oh, SHE admitted to voting for Obama both times.

Unfortunately very few today have ever been hungry. The folks who went thru the depression knew reality. The reality today, particularly with the young seems to be govt providing everything. Agree with the frog factor.

The Anti-Gunners would call this being Paranoid!! Why would'nt you be Paranoid the way the Media portray's gun owners and gun enthusiests!!

Oh, man. This is the exact thing that happened to me 12 1/2 years ago. Never forget that the cheapest way to pay for anything is with money, and after your health and attitude, your most precious asset is TIME. Good luck.

The point I take from that is any enemy would want to make incremental changes to disarm that army first. It could give credence to taking any "threat" to firearms ownership or useage being taken very seriously.

They will take all your money first, then your guns so you can't try to get your money back.
