I made a trade the other day and traded a tika 30 06 for my old 1895 GS that I worked on , I'm so glade to get it back home and it's staying this time. I sold it so I could buy a new GBL and it had extraction issues. I'm not going down that road again! Here is what I down to the gun : stoned the trigger, made the cuff, replaced the loop with a WW big loop, added a XS lever scout rail, replaced the front sight with a fiber optic sight, added a Williams peep. Now I had to remove the peep but keep the base on the gun scope clears it by about a half a hair. The scope is a Nikon Monarch African 1x4x20. You can see the the fiber optic pin on 1 power.

It Looks great. Where did you get the leather buttplate cover? I have a Ruger #3 that has the piece of **** plastic buttplate and I can not stand it.

John Allen - if you can stand to lengthen your #3 stock - check out Rubber recoil pads - either sold for Mini-14/30 or 10/22 it works on #3's

Darned bears walked all over your gun stock! That's what happens when you fall asleep in the woods.:kidding:

Nice looking leather work. I have a similar rig on my 1895 CB, though I left off the cartridge loops.

Wellllllllllll, you showed us the bear end! haha! Good bit of leatherwork.

Those funny looking recoil pads are also available for the Mosin, use the standard buttplate screws, so you can return it to stock when you are finished! Great idea.

When I saw the title, I thought that you were talking motorcycles, I ride a BMW R1150GS, that's the adventure bike, good for road or dirt/rough roads. We just call them GSs out here, haha!

Here's my GS;

Figure if I can't lift it, I might as well go 4 wheels.

I had a 2008 KLR and really liked it. I went out shopping for a good road bike with panniers and top case and came home with the GS.

I then thought that it was a bit of duplication, so I sold the KLR. Nice bike I sort of regret selling it. I owuldn't mind an older KLR set up for dirt touring, but can't afford to run two bikes at the moment.

Best be getting back to Marlins or we will get sin binned for thread hi-jackery!

Thanks for the links

I saw these but I can not stand to take a nice gun and put this on it. I am old fashioned this way. I would rather make my own steel plate then use one of these. I do appreciate the heads up though.
