I posted awhile ago about switching brass and gaining alot of improvment in accuracy and consistancy with my 41 mag.

After hearing some of the responses I had to run a new test: Same powder, same primer, trim to length, etc. The only variable is the brass. I mixed the test groups to eliminate any fatigue on my part.
Test group 1 is my older brand of brass:
5 powder charges from min to near max were attempted: best group was a 6" group and the worst was 7 1/2" at 50yds

Test group 2 is my new brass of choice for my cast bullets:
Same 5 powder charges and my best group was 2".
shot group 1 3 1/2"
shot group 2 2 1/2"
shot group 3 3 1/4"
shot group 4 2"
shot group 5 2 1/4"

The groups with the 1st test group were spread out like a circle with one group stringing vertically.
The groups with the 2nd test group had several clover shaped holes.

I still can't explain this phenom but who cares, it works.

maybe you ought to try annealing your old bras you may not be getting consistant neck tension and even crimps because of brittle necks .....Dean

Oneshot,

Sorry. Your handle makes me think of a guy I know named Pat.

Been there, done that. Try this. If it don't work, go up and Search for Neck Tension or Crimp.
