We went out on the ice for the first time this year and caught two limits of cutthroats. All fish ran between 13"-15". The bite varied from one caught every 20 minutes to every hour. We got bumped at least once for every one hooked so it was a light bite. You could shoot a rifle to the Continental Divide but we had 4"-6" of good ice and temps were about 40F @ noon. You could not ask for better conditions for the first time out this year. It was 54F in town so I am hoping the ice lasts.

Nice. I caught a few rainbows through the ice on the lake by our house a couple weeks ago. Love trout fishing.

Ice? What's that? We're so darn dry and warm here in CO that I can't even find ice in the freezer lately.

Good looking fish!

I get the best ice at Sonic drive-ins, and we need it, too, 'cause it's still dusty and warm here.

Holy cow John, I'm surprised there is that much ice already. There is just a skim in the valley lakes here so far. A friend of mine told me ice fishing sucked in his area of Florida all last winter.

Ric, this is the only lake I would trust right now. If you get in the right place you can look up and see the back side of Mary's statue off of I 15.

Nice - how thick was the ice?
Ya, didn't have to watch out for the Zamboni did ya?

Great looking catch. But not enough ice here to fix a drink! Temp here is 76 degrees right now. Supposed to be 80 tomorrow. Wish we could get some cooler weather, but not cold enough for ice fishing. I'll leave thay to you guys. Enjoy!

We have plenty of ice to fish on, but I'll be glad when we get enough to drive on. lol

Dew point and temp both at 68 here tonight. Trees are still showing fall colors and only a few have begun to drop their leaves. It's December and the summer STILL won't let go.

6" of ice. Where I live the wind brooms things off pretty good. Some lakes need a shovel occasionally but the wind will generally broom things down to clear ice.
