Wasnt sure where to place this post, but I am looking at reloading with cast boolits in the above mentioned caliber. Slugged the bore twice, .312 consistent diameter. Any fingers in the right direction where I should be focusing is greatly appreciated.

The Lee Harris bullet its hard to beat. That's what Ed designed it for.

it might be listed as a 155 2r or something like that.
but ed's design would work well.

Considering the 7.62x39 is chambered in single shot, bolt action, semi-auto and automatic weapons it might be a help if you tell us what type of weapon you intend to use it in and what you are shooting with it (game, paper targets or rocks, cans or dirt clods, etc.).

The NOE spitzer 129gn is a great boolit, or the Lee Harris design

I also like the Harris (Lee) 155 2R boolit it will also work well in a single shot or bolt action 30-30.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. Larry Gibson, its going to be used with my Saiga which I believe was converted by CAI? One man I work with says no matter what he tried he couldnt get the thing to function right in a semi auto action. The only advice given to me was to use nothing lower than a 155 gr gc'd cast. Id like to one day hunt with it.
