A Newbie Difficulty

My brother, ericb, just registered here a few days ago and is learning the ropes. However, he's encountered a problem with Private Messages.

As near as I can tell from phone discussions, he is following the correct procedure for sending messages, namely:

-he clicks on "reply" under the message to which he wants to respond;

-he types his reply in the blank space provided;

-he clicks "submit".....and the messages don't arrive at their destinations.

Also, his arriving private messages from this Board show up on his Outlook Express E-mail, and not on Cast Boolits as PMs.

Any ideas?

I've had trouble when attempting to send group PMs. If I send to three addressees and one of them is Eric, I am told that Eric was "not found." If I then re-send the same message without Eric, all is well. Do I need to add "eh" to Eric's handle?

Seems I remember his brother had that difficulty a year or two ago... Is it a family trait perhaps, or a Canadian thing? :-) :razz:

BruceB, the only thing I can think of is he disabled the use of private messages. Have him sign in and go to his options and see if his private messages are disabled. If they are, enable them.

Part of the problem is that I was using the wrong handle for Eric. It's all fixed now and I just sent him two PMs.
