I am looking for a cartridge belt to hold about 8 to 10 (+?) rounds of 45/70, etc. I tossed my old leather belt into the garbage a couple of weeks ago after pulling out some green corroded 45-90 rounds that were nice shiny Starline brass when they had been placed in there only a few days before, I knew this was a problem but I didn't expect it to tarnish the brass that fast! I am aware that this particular belt is(was) worse than most but whatever this leather had been tanned with is very corrosive to brass. I really like a leather belt but I want something I can load up and leave for a few days and not have to worry about my polished brass cases turning green!

Recommendations for a cartridge belt to complement an 1885 HighWall?

that's one of the reasons nickle plated brass was invented.

All my catridge belts are by Wolf Ears Equipment. They are canvas with leather billits for tonque and buckle. I like them alot. No worry about greening. I can't find contact info, but a search should find it.

That's what I'm looking for thanks!

Compared to some of the leather items I have been considering at other places the prices there are good also, they have a nice 20 loop outfit that should work nicely, thanks again.

If it was a old belt that you used for a while I wonder if there is a process to refurbish its condition? Like saddle soap mixed with murphy's oil soap mixed with nels phapta soap, with JPW, some type of concoction. This forum and others comes up with some pretty clever solutions sometimes.

I bought two folding "ammo pouches" that fit on your belt. Mine are made out of nylon with velcro closures. They hold 10 rounds of 30-06 or 8 rounds of my 300 Wby.

Have two folding leather ammo pouches, one for 06 lengths, the other for the big long mags. If you line the inside with alum foil, or the packages that instant soup comes in, there will be no corrosion. Have used this trick for numerous years after having 357 brass corrode in a leather loops.
