Found this and thought it was hilarious, but somewhat true none the less!

Stolen from another site...that was stolen from another site....etc, etc...

How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

One to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
Fourteen to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
Seven to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
One to move it to the lighting section
Two to argue, then move it to the electrical section
Seven to point out spelling/ grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
Five to flame the spell checkers
Three to correct spelling/ grammar flames
Six to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another six to condemn those six as stupid
Two industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
Fifteen know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
Nineteen to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
Eleven to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
Thirty-six to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
Seven to post URLs where one can see examples of different light bulbs
Four to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URLs
Three to post about links they found from the URLs that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
Thirteen to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "+1"
Two to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
Five to say, "Didn't we go through this already a few months ago?"
Nine to say, "Do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

One forum lurker to respond to the original post eight months from now and start it all over

True, but you get to sort the replies into groups and learn who to respond to - and that is a dangling paticiple, right?

Wait - shouldn't his be moved to the Humor & Off Topic section ? :kidding:

Could be, I also posted it on another forum and they deleted it as not gun related, no sense of humor over there.

And as with the Irish, one to change the lightbulb/light bulb/lamp/lighting device/torch, and ten to toast how grand the light was before she burned out and to blame the English for the demise of the light. [smilie=s:

How about the guy that remembers that they didn't use light bulbs in his youth? Instead they used candles and then goes on to describe how his mother and aunt made them.

My Irish buddy says the right way is for one guy to get a grip on the light bulb, then 14 other guys drink until the room spins.

Oh, the shame of it all. That's how the shanty Irish change a bulb. Mine is the lace Irish version.

I envy you guys still allowed to own & use light bulbs... UK banned them a year or so ago (like everything else)....

Now we just have eco-friendly energy saving alternatives that take about 3 days to reach a reasonably level of illumination...

Oh, they treat you like mushrooms!?¿[smilie=s:

The lighting devices I'm going to be changing are those &*^$#@ compact florescent's that I foolishly bought. I want light when I turn them on, not 3-4 seconds later!Did you know they don't work at all outside in the good old Wisconsin winter? Grrrrrr!

And they burn out just as fast and cost ten times as much "real savings" Right. and all have made in China on them!

There are other fun parts of the compacts. The mercury content is scary. The ones that I've purchased for outside lights that are left on for long periods of time all EXPLODED. And I don't mean broke, I mean blew out the glass housing out on one lamp, and blew the top off of another.

Kinda like the saying, real trucks don't have spark plugs, well real light bulbs don't have circuit boards.

You should check out the LED alternatives... 10x more pricey than the compact Flu's... and with about the same Lux output as sidelight on my car.... :-(

£40 GBP ($60 USD) a piece... OUCH !

Since this thread has now went off into which light bulb (or whatever you wish to call it) to buy. I'll add this, just like primers and powder and .22 rimfire, I'm pretty sure I have enough incandescent bulbs to last me the rest of my life time.

Yes we do. There is a debate going on right now about the Lyman halogen 535001 and the H&G Hurricane lamp, the old radiates more heat than light topic.

This thread has inspired me. I'm going to write a book titled "Dummies Guide to Changing a Light Bulb"

It's going to be a minimum of 500 pages, and I'm going to be rich!!

In fact I'm going to be so rich, I'm going to take a community organizers approach to this richness.
I'm going to spread my wealth amongst all the members on this forum!!!
Get ready boys and girls, we're going to live off my wealth I'll be making!! [smilie=w: :guntootsmiley:
