I have read some internet rumblings that the plunger piece inside Lyman sizing dies is somewhat shorter that in RCBS dies, thus short boolits don't get lifted all the way back out when using Lyman dies in the RCBS LAM II. I'd like to be able to use Lyman dies because they offer more sizes (e.g. .359) and the inside piece is slightly cupped so that unevenly cut sprues don't cause the boolit to enter the dies at an angle.

Any feedback on using lyman dies in the Lube-a-matic would be greatly appreciated.

If the problem is with the length of the plunger, it won't matter if you use the die in a Lyman sizer or an RCBS sizer. If you want to raise the boolit further just epoxy a small washer onto the bottom of the plunger in order to lengthen it. On the other hand, I have found that having the plunger slightly (.050 inch ) shorter than the die body helps get the boolit started on its journey because it will be centered in the die as the nose punch starts to move it downward.
