I Know everybody that loads for the 35 Rem likes the 200 gr Lyman GC boolit but I keep coming back to this guy.

This one I could use in the mess of 357 pistols and my Rossi 92, as well.

RCBS RELOADING PRODUCTS DOUBLE CAVITY BULLET MOULD 357CAL .358 DIA 180GR SILHOUETTE

Midsouth has a double cavity for the same price as a single of the Lyman.

We shoot wild pigs and deer at ranges of feet up to 100 yards, so I'm thinkin' that this would be the ticket.

Both are GC so that ain't a bother. and 180 gr of Pb at 1800FPS with a flat nose ain't going to do any target any good.

But will it cycle in a tube mag and have any of Y'all shot it in a 35 Rem??

Dumb redneck questions, but with lead and alloy getting higher, why not drop 20 gr/boolit, if it will shoot Ok??

Thanks Y'all,

TwoTrees

my favorite bullet to. I know from experience that it does well on deer and pigs.

I have both these molds & a 336 in 35 Rem. too. I haven't shot the 180-sil boolit in the 35, but I have shot both in my 357 Herrett (handgun silhouettes). The 180 is full dia on the front band and has a short pointy nose. The result was that I have to seat the bullet much deeper than I would like in the Herrett. I can just barely get it out enough to seat to the crimp groove and the Herrett (like most Contender barrels) has a generous throat. The 35 Rem. has a much shorter throat, just guessing, but I bet you would have to seat it to crimp over the front band in the 35.
The 35-200-FN is a bore rider and carries a fair amount of its weight in the nose, which is why it fits in the 35 Rem so well. It also has a bigger meplat making it a better hunting bullet. Also, the 180-Sil nose is a little pointy for a tube magazine for my liking. The other problem I had with the 180-Sil is that it shoots to a different point of aim in both elevation and windage in the Herrett, by about 4" high and right at 100 yds.
For a lighter bullet, try the 155 gr. Lyman 358156. It's a SWC but it feeds fine in my 336, I think in part due to the front band being slightly smaller. It has a good meplat and would make a dandy deer hunting bullet at 1800 - 1900 fps I would think. It has been very accurate in my Herrett, 35 Rem. and .357 mag (GP-100). Best of all it shoots to almost the same point of aim as the 35-200 (elevation is slighty different, but right on for windage) in both the Herrett and the 35 Rem. I don't know how it would feed in the Rossi 92, but it is a "classic" 357 revolver GC bullet. Loaded down with something like Unique it makes a good plinker or small game load in the 35 too.
But if I wanted to limit my loading to one big game bullet in the 35 Rem. it would be the 35-200-FN. I still have yet to try the 180-Sil in my GP-100, maybe it will find a happy home there?
