"Daddy, can we make 'bullets'?"

Abby is nearly 5 and Kiera is nearly 8. Both, under supervision, can easily load 12g on the MEC. It's a beautiful thing. NOTE: The Confederate flay was bought while in TN in 2005. Had to have one for no reason other than 'had to have one'.

My little girl asks me is she can put the wax on the boolits, she likes the lubesizer. She also likes to "push the wax in the case", as she calls it. Basically she seats/crimps all my .38spl loads.

Jeff -

I hate being a scold - but PLEASE get some safety glasses for those two beautiful children to wear. I mean it dude, and if you don't have a pair for yourself then get some and set an example. They will get used to them very quickly if you lovingly insist that wearing safety glasses is the way the big kids do things.

There is nothing more precious than vision.

Please, please, please my friend.

It's just a matter of time before they run you out of your own reloading room, you know that right!
With the rebel flag and coke bottle hoppers, you've got to be from Southern New Zealand!

There ya go, that's the way to bring them up. But I have to agree with theperfesser. Be safe with the little ones. Great looking family.

I taught all three of my daughters how to shoot safely, and gave all the chance to participate and learn reloading. My youngest (now 31 years old) took to it the most. She would invite someone she was dating to go to the range with us. Some would actually go. Must have been a pretty good deterent, because as far as I know, she never had any issues with any guy being crude.

Point taken and good advice. I will fix that.

They are beautiful!! This takes me back to when my girls helped me reload. They are now grown up and have kids of their own. I am about ready to start teaching my grandkids to help. Enjoy them, they grow up so fast.

What's the burn rate of CocaCola? Would Mountain Dew give a higher burn rate? Arizona Ice Tea would surely work for some squib loads. Right?

.............It's very obvious to me Jeff that you are an exceedingly lucky man. My only child, who is 34 years old (YEESH!) and her husband gifted us with a grand daughter. We knew it before with our own child growing up, but with a grand daughter who is now 2.5 years old, the fact that time ABSOLUTELY FLIES by has hit home HARD. I remember times in the reloading room when Christian (daughter) wanted to spend time 'helping me' reload. A few instances of her jumping the gun and almost cutting a wedge out of my thumb, with her working the handle of the Dillon while I was trying to place a boolit in the case mouth .................had me suggesting that she go help her mom, more often than not :-) I finally got it down to where she'd help sort and box brass from the tumbler, and feed me boolits to lube-size, then place the result into the plastic boxes. She was for sure 'Daddy's girl' and I delighted in that.

I used to be in trouble with mom more often then not for letting her do stuff Donna thought was crazy like letting her drive the Suburban back down the dirt road from where we were shooting, to the house after something when she was 10 :-) But we laugh about it know. Heck, she could reach the peddles so what's the big deal? Mom's just don't understand! Now God and my daughter and son in law have given me a grand daughter, so now I can stay in hot water again and do it right, as a Gran'pa!

Grandkids are much better than kids, you spoil them rotten then send them home. Grandad "Oh you want ice cream for breakfast, that will be fine I'll join you."
