Thank the LORD I was able to take a nice bobcat with a my STI 10 MM pistol this past weekend . Always wanted to take a bobcat with a pistol .
Shooting a 215gr cast bullet at 1220 fps. The shot hit him under the chin and exited about 2/3 back out the side.
I was hog hunting on a small property (48 acres) my friend lets me hunt .At about 5:30PM last Friday I was sitting in a stand overlooking a feeder and small group of acorn trees when this bobcat came out of the trees at about 60 yards walking right at me. The tom stopped at about 35 yards and looked around and then walked a few more yards and stopped, I put the front sight under his chin and he fell at the shot. I walked the distance off at 29 yards. The 215gr boolit is the one on the far right in the picture.
**line-up of boolits- Lee 170 gr - Accurate 190gr LFNGC, Accurate 200gr LFNPB, MM 215gr WFNGC.

Nice story and photos! Nice cat! Getting it mounted?

That 10mm is an awesome thing. It is an epic killer all out of proportion to its size, especially out of a long slide! ;)

That 215gr has a pretty wide meplat! How's it feed?

Nice tabby, good spots, pelt might be worth some money.
I talked to hide buyer and he said good bobcats would bring around $400.00 this winter.

Feeds fine at 1.245", any longer and I have problems . I can only load 10 in the mag or I have problems with the nose hanging up in the mag.
No mount . I would like a full body mount ,just a little too expensive right now.

Oh my God!!! Really? I remember selling a clip full of bobcat pelts for less than that! We havent had a fur trade worth spit in many years, thank you, PITA. Now we just shoot em and waste em rather than using the hides for SOMETHING. Sorry, dont want to hijack and turn this into a PITA bashing, but yall know where I am going.

Nice sized beast.

I have some that come through regularly and check out my chicken house. I have been trying to nail them with a cross bow -- close but no success yet. If I see them in the back part of the property I will nail them wit a CCI quiet round. Yes there are neighbors no too far off so.....

Just remember he is talking colorado cats not texas cats. Ours often times have nice spotting but the fur quality is worlds apart and prices usually reflect that. If you get enough to make it worth your while you can sometimes do ok shipping texas cats to canada fur auctions like NAFA, otherwise your only other option is selling to taxidermists, they often will buy a nicely spotted cat pelt skinned out properly for taxi for between 50-100 bucks.

Accuracy at 50 yards is 2.5" open sights. I am still trying to get a hog . I would use a 150 gr+ HP on deer.
