I just bought a Ruger #1 in 405 and now am in need of a mold or two and some cast boolit load data. Molds seem to be pretty scarce as does cast load data. Midway does have the Lyman 412263 that looks pretty good, but I would really like a gas check version. Any other non-custom molds? Any info appreciated.

try buffalo arms in idaho, they have alot of stuff.I would think any mold for the
40-65 would work. But you want a gascheck so look up Rapine if they are still around, they had unusual designs.
can you obtain jacketed bullets for it? could probably shoot 41cal pistol bullets no problem and speedy too.

RCBS makes a .416-350gr. flatnose.Hogdon and Hornady both have data for the 405.

NEI makes some moulds for the .405 Winchester. Their .411-350-GC (#225A) is a real dandy in the .405 Winchester.

Check with Bullshop. I buy bullets from him for my .405 cause I don't imagine I'll be shooting it enough to invest in the LBT mold he's using for the 350gr pills I use. A couple of hundred may be all I ever use.

I found a NEI mold on Ebay, got Mountain molds to make me one. The cost between off the shelf and custom is minimal.
I use the same data that works for jacketed bullets with my cast bullets.
Got a bit dicey finding data for a 350 grain bullet, but it's out there 'Online'
Everybody that I talked to recommened IMR 3031 as the powder to go to.
Size your bullets .413, use anealed .416 gas checks, Lyman 40 Cal checks are trash, a good hard lube and you are in business.
I use Redding dies with with a Hornady bullet seater.

Thanks, I had forgot about NEI. This 412-300 looks like just what I was after.
