I cast on my workbench in the back of my garage just a few
feet from the side door.
When I cast I have the garage door and this side door open
with a floor fan running. The lead pot is between me and the fan
blowing out the side door.
This works well in the summer but it's not going to work if I want to
cast during the winter here in NE Ohio.

I've often thought about rigging up a flexible clothes dryer hose that
has it's inlet just above the pot and exhausts out the side door.

Has anyone rigged up anything similar?

What kind of fan should I be looking for?

Do ones exist that I can run the dryer hose in one side and out the other?
Thanks!

Some of us use scrapped stove hood and the dryer hose as you mentioned.

I put a $15 fart fan (bathroom ventilator) from Home Depot over the pot and ran the 3" aluminum flex pipe out the window. Works well.

That Aluminum Flex for bath fans might be more durable than the plastic flex around hot lead.

Yard sale range hood and a dryer vent out through the wall. $40 or so w/hi/lo/and lights.

500 CFM remote, in-line 8" exhaust fan in the attic ducted to a fume hood in my gun room. Much more quiet than having the motor right over the pot.
