Deer season opens at the lease on Saturday. My buddy killed an aoudad there last weekend.

The perfect week would be to fill my deer tag,get a hog or two and come back with an aoudad.

He got the first one on the lease but where there is one there are more. The lease butts up against Palo Duro Canyon and there are plenty there.

I will be back on Wednesday. Hopefully with pictures.

I still haven't decided what to hunt with. I have my 300 blk for hog hunting at night. I put my 300 WM in the truck, that will be J word bullets only if I use it. Also in the truck is my muzzle loader which will be cast.

I'll think more about it tonight, would really like to use cast or swaged.

Here is a pic of Ray and Hunter with the aoudad.

Have you ever put in for the Ibex, everyone I have known to get one really liked the meat, they didn't share though, so no first hand experience. lol

If you get one of those BIG horned things you better come home with a VERY LARGE crock pot for your wife to cook them in.

Still waiting on the recipe for the last horns you showed us. :bigsmyl2:

Good luck and I will be over for supper[smilie=s:

I'm back. I got my deer opening afternoon. It was pretty windy and sleeping at night was tough. I was camping in my military cargo trailer with tarps thrown over the top. The wind caused the tarp to flutter all night long. I decided to come back early.

My wife was a little upset because I came back without a hog. She said she is running out of pork. That took me off guard, wild game is obviously growing on her. It only took 25 years!

Starmac:
I put in for ibex every year. As of yet haven't got drawn. Same with oryx although my son drew one time.

Bad Water Bill :

Yeah, i would need a huge pot for that!

, I hung the antlers today, I'll take a pic and post it. Doesn't look like much.

With the new changes in Texas, there has been a huge surge in hunting with crossbows. My neighbor and I both got Horton Brotherhood cross bows and we practice shooting together. I don't hunt but he took two deer with his. He's trying to get a hog hunt going with CB's. I might be interested in doing that as there are hogs everywhere in east Texas!

Good going on the hunt!
