Bad Water Bill

I just found more uses for it.

Thought I would pass it on to a few chosen friends.

A lady got up early one morning and went outside to get the Sunday paper, she noticed someone had sprayed red paint all around the sides of the neighbors brand new beige truck. She went over and woke him up and gave him the bad news. He was, of course extremely upset. And they stood there trying to figure out what could be done about the problem. They decided there wasn't much recourse but to wait until Monday, since nothing was open.

Just then, another neighbor came out of his house, surveyed the situation and immediately went to get his WD-40 out and cleaned the red paint off with it. Guess what! It cleaned of that paint without harming the original paint on the truck!

Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three Technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The Corvair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you...' IT IS MADE FROM FISH OIL' . When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It 's the first thing that has ever cleaned
that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It is a miracle! Then try it on your stovetop... It is now shinier than it has ever been before.

I was told years ago that the primary ingredient in WD-40 was #1 diesel fuel.

Thanks for updating my education Bill.

A violation of the E P A and has been called POLLUTION of the waters BUT.

Using WD40 on your bait greatly increases your catch of fish BUT you did not see or hear it here.:bigsmyl2:

Uh-huh!

Anybody that has worked in a gunshop cleaning guns knows all about WD-40. A gun that comes in that "don't work nomore", just a sniff of the guts will tell you what's wrong. Layers upon layers of wd-40! They spray it before going hunting each year. Next year it's sluggish, so another longer spray to loosen last years layer, get it running again. Then try to get it all off/out of the receiver of lets say a Browning A-5.

The best solvent to cut the wd-40 crud is a chlorinated solvent. Zip strip paint stripper has the most in it, though I heard our lovelt EPA has banned chlorinated solvents noe. Gun scrubber used to have that as an ingredient, but no more.

The reason it works as a lubricant is it's ability to create a layer that won't go away. Exactly why it should never be used inside a gun. If you insist, use it on the OUTSIDE, never in the inside mechanism.

Used to work with an engineer that would almost never approve any purchase you wanted. Workers said he was waiting for WD41.

39: we've been using WD-40 on lures for ever- the water here is so dang hard you have to lube the lures!

I worked with a guy that got a ticket from DNR for spraying a fishing spoon with WD-40 the judge dropped the fine to $25 and told him not to use it any more and allowed him to keep getting fishing licence. The officer was ticked as he wanted full fine and loss of fishing/hunting for three years!

Greetings
And please never spray the movement of a wall clock or pocket watch with that liquid. You cannot imagin the time it will take to clean it off.

For a good fishing lure, mix WD40, anise oil, and chopped garlic. The WD smell is pretty well masked.

Add: Removes built up finger oil from buttons, door knobs and handles, steering wheels, keyboards, etc. One other tip: Apply the WD-40 to a clothe or one of those green fiber scrubbing pads and use that to clean, instead of spraying the WD-40 on the object, such as the keyboard I mentioned.
