Do 45 caliber gas checks work on both .452 & .458 bullets?

Thanks!

Yes they do but BSS does make one for each.

I've used the regular .45 caliber gas checks on bullets sized from .451 - .460 with no technical problems. I started with RCBS GCs (which seemed a little lighter in weight than some others) but my next purchase was Hornadys as nothing else was available (no technical problems here either). Both of these types of gas checks are supposed to have an "edge" around the inside of the top of the cup that sort of swages them on the bullet. More recently I got an order of "Gator" checks that are heavier and, I think, are especialy for the larger diameter 45s and I use them for that (read 45-70). They also are said to "swage" on. I've had no difficulty with any of these types described here coming off in flight.
