Well, I guess I’ll start this month’s Castpic of the mount off with a picture of my Mausers.

They are a little different than what most people think when. When someone says “Mauser”, a centerfire rifle comes to mind or the broom handled pistols.

The top rifle is an unfired, still in Cosmoline Mas 45. I know the rules say only Mausers, but Mauser built this rifle a training rifle for the French right after WWII. Mauser really made a great rifle when they produced these. They have a 2 stage trigger, mag fed, a peep rear sight & interchangable (0, 5, 10, ect to 30/short to tall) front sight blades.

The bottom rifle is the classic Mauser smallbore competition rifle from the 1930’s, an es340b. The Mauser‘s & the Winchester 52’s went head to head for years in some of the fiercest competitions of their time in world class events.

Good morning
My favorite Mauser ! Pre WW1 and pre 1900 with matching stock.
The Italian Navy ordered approximatly 5000 pistols for distribution. The goal of the Navy was to contract for the model 1896 in a least expensive mode. Mauser's simple solution was to bypass the milling procedure on the sidewalls which increased weight. Being a pistol that was not to be actually carried for long distances a few extra ounces was a mute point as comparred to the financial savings.
As typical Mauser fasion, extra pistols were made once the contract was filled and offered to other military organizations plus the civilian market.
This particular Mauser # 27,xxx is in 95% condition with a beautiful bore. Function is flawless (yes I shoot it some with my cast loads) and with the shoulder stock option makes for an interesting afternoon of plinking. The Mauser 1896 System is an engenering marvel as only the Tutonic mind could envision. Simple stripper clips made reloading fast and easy into the standard 10 round magazine. The potent military load was a 87 grain jacketed bullet at near 1500 fps. Trajectory and accuracy was far beyond anything a revolver could offer in that day.

My Mauser clone, Husqvarna 9.3x62 with 2 3/4 X Kahles scope, have been shooting a NEI 245 gr PB boolit loaded to 1384fps yet to shoot something with it, ammo is Lapua 286 Mega, 270gr Speer reload, Norma 232 Vulcan.54289

Since it is Mausers I thought I might submit a couple.
Built from scratch ( took me 2 years) including the stocks.
Both shoot great.
I shoot one with BP and the other with smokeless.

Here's a 1891 somebody really worked over before I bought it a a pawn shop. I stripped all the scope stuff off, so I just need open sights now (when I get a few[hundred] dollars),
PS I use 22-250 brass sized in the 250 sizer for most of my brass, but it comes out a little short.

Here is my Mauser 98/22 that I had worked over into a 6.5 x 55 MM Sweede. I added a thumbhole laminated stock (don't wuin your eyes), Match Douglas Barrel, Buehler Safety, Jeweled the bolt, added sling swivel posts, new recoil pad and ball bearing trigger. It will do an honest 1 inch group of 5 at 200 yds with j words and a 1/2 inch at 75 yds with cast boolits. 54739

one of three I own, this one being a yugo m48 with exceptional bore. have since mounted a holographic sight where the rear site sits. looking forward to pig hunting at night with the setup.

Not a full length foto, but it shows the most interesting aspects. As close as I can determine, this is a Mauser Type B Sporting Rifle. It was my paternal grandfather's rifle and the stock broke, whereupon it sat in a closet until I resurrected it. It came with a double set trigger which had parts missing, so I put a Timney Sportsman on it. Originally chambered in 8x57J (.318"), and with a corroded chamber, I had it rebored and rechambered to 9.3x64mm. It features a half octagon barrel, 21" long, stippled full length rib, and a removable (not hinged) floorplate, all cradled in a AAA grade piece of French Walnut.
