Hi guys. I''ve come seeking knowledge. I need a gunsmith to work on my 35 remmy marlin 336cs.
It's going to be my go to gun for elk in the timber and I want to get some work done on it. I'd like to know who you'd suggest to slick it up a bit for me. Feeding has always been balky intermittently with it. I've changed a few parts internally, but I'd really like someone really good with these rifles, to go through it and get it shucking shells smoothly. I'd also like someone to refinish the wood, and fix the butcher job I did when I installed the decellerator pad on it. I'd like the forend slimmed down as well.
Thanks,
Dan

Wild west in anchorage, they work on others, but have specialized in marlins for a long time.
Shipping would probably be a little more, but IIRC they opened a shop in las vegas too.

You could try Al Siegrist in Whittemore, MI. He mainly does barrel work, but he has done many things in 40 years. One of the last times I talked to him he was converting a 92 win 25-20 to 44-40.
